FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions )

USB & FireWire 1394a Drivers installation

Driver installation:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Once Windows is running, a new 1394a and/or USB 2.0 controller card is detected.
3. Windows will load its own driver for the controller card automatically.
4. Follow the on-screen manual instructions and wait for Windows to start completely. The 1394a and/or USB 2.0 ports are ready for use.

Most OSes have their own driver for the controller card, but they might not have the drivers for the external devices connecting to the controller card. Therefore be sure the drivers for the external devices are available before installation.
When the device driver is properly installed, there will not be any question or exclamation marks shown in front of this device in the Device Manager. If there are, check the following:

1. The driver for the controller card was installed according to the procedure listed above.
2. If an older driver version was previously installed.
3. The driver for a similar product is installed.
4. In the worst case, the controller card is defective. Please contact us at 626-369-9600 or email us at support@koutech.com .
