(PSA150, PSA420, PSA421 or future RAID card) Why
won't my Intel motherboard bios detect the RAID card? I don't see a

All you need to do
is on the motherboard bios setup screen, go to "Security", then enable

Q:
|
(PSA420 & PSA421) I have a PSA420 RAID card
with 4x1TB hard drives; they are in RAID 5, which gives ~3TB of data
and the bios of the PSA420 shows ~3TB of data space. When I look in
Windows XP Pro (32bit) disk manager, I see only 2TB. Why? |
|
A:
|
Windows XP Pro has a
2TB limitation per partition or per RAID set partition because NTFS5
or NTFS only supports up to a 2TB limitation per partition.
For more information about NTFS limitation, please visit

Q:
|
(PSA421) I'm looking to buy a
PSA421 to put in my Dell Precision 670 to allow for a 3rd hard drive.
The board PCI-x slots is 3.3v, 100 MHz each and I'm running XP 64 Pro.
Apparently some cards have problems with less than 5 volts. Will this
card work in my system? Also, I have a 2TB hard drive and your site
says that his card will only support up to 1.5TB. Will the 2TB drive
not work with this card? |
|
A:
|
The IO-PSA421 will support 3.3v and 100Mhz
bus. Also, the card will support Windows XP Pro 64bit and the 2TB
hard disk drive.

Q: |
(PESI300) Can I create a RAID with
one IDE hard drive and one SATA hard drive on the IO-PESI300? |
|
A: |
No. The RAID function is only for SATA
hard drives and cannot be combined with IDE hard drives.
|
|
Q:
|
(MRA22x & MRA32x series) I seem to have some problems when
hot-swapping hard disk drives from the mobile rack? |
|
A:
|
Please set SATA Controller setting to "AHCI"
on system BIOS.
|
|
Q:
|
(CBL-PSA512V-100) I seem have problems to get my 3.5" SATA hard disk
drive to recognize by my laptop computer via CBL-PSA512V-100.
What am I doing wrong? |
|
A:
|
eSATA ports on laptop computers only
provide 5V power. Since, 3.5" hard disk drives require 12V
power; so, your laptop computer can not recognize the drive.
|
|
Q:
|
(Power Over eSATA) Understanding Power Over eSATA compatibility
issues & questions you might have during installations |
|
A:
|
a. Our PESU220, CBL-PSA512V-100 supports
both 5V & 12V power applications.
b. 2.5" portable hard disk drives only require 5V to power; while
3.5" desktop hard disk drives need 12V to power.
c. Most of the motherboards; such as, ASUS Sabertooth X58 & P8P67
series motherboards, the built-in Power eSATA ports only support 5V
power, and no 12V power support are on these ports.
d. If you must accomplish the full potential of Power Over eSATA
features, you must use both of our PESU220 & CBL-PSA512V-100
solutions.
e. Our ECSU120 only support 5V power due to the limitation on laptop
computer's ExpressCard slots

Q: |
(PIR133) How do I enter RAID BIOS to setup my RAID
set?
|
|
A: |
Press <F3> during POST when prompt to enter the
PIR133 RAID BIOS to setup your RAID set.
|
|
Q: |
(PIR133) How come I can not enter the RAID BIOS to
setup my RAID set?
|
|
A: |
If you are not able to enter the RAID BIOS after
pressing <F3> or during POST your computer has not prompt you to
press <F3>, you might have a defective PIR133 card or possible bad
cables. Please try to replace the cables first, and try the
installation all over again. If it still failed, please contact our
customer service (CS) for RMA process.
|
|
Q: |
(PIR133) I have setup RAID-1 (Mirror set) on my hard
disk drives before. Will the data on the hard disk drives still
stay intact after I have deleted (or break) the RAID set alone
|
|
A: |
If you have not "re-creating" a new RAID set, or have
not "re-partitioning", or have not "re-formating" these hard disk
drives; the original data would still stay intact on these drives.
